My HP Envy Photo 7855 won't print from the photo tray, so I put 4x6 in the main tray. It printed. Today I refilled the main tray with 8x11 paper and made changes to the settings. I tried to copy a doc from the glass and it keeps telling me the paper doesn't match. It shows 4x6 in both the photo and main tray on the printer. When I hit main tray there is no option to change the size of the paper. Please help. I've tried everything I could think of. I'm using macOS Sonoma 14.3 btw. Thanks.

Hi @Taina505,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like there might be some confusion between the settings of your printer and the settings on your computer. Let's try to troubleshoot this step by step.
- Check Printer Settings: On your printer's control panel, ensure that the paper size settings for both the main tray and the photo tray are correctly set to 8x11 (letter size) paper.
- Check Computer Settings: Open the print dialog on your computer when attempting to print or copy. Make sure that the paper size settings match the paper loaded in the main tray (8x11). Sometimes, the printer settings on the computer can override the printer's default settings.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues with the printer and the connection between the printer and the computer.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
- Reset Printer: If the issue persists, you might want to reset the printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and successfully print using the main tray with 8x11 paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
