I have tried to printer a picture several times and each time my HP photo paper gets jammed in the feeder. WHY????

Some photo printers have a setting to specify the paper type, not just the size.

 

If you are using non-standard paper weight then you may need to feed the paper from the back so it passes through the printer without curling around a platen.  Just guessing.

 

Enter your printer model here and see if there is a good video that shows how to fix the problem

Click on the magnifier after replacing the 2755e

 

If your printer has seen lot of use then you may need a roller kit or at least clean the rollers
