Hi @Frank1083

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining your goal so clearly. Printing on custom-sized paper like 6" x 6" with the HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e is absolutely possible, but it requires a few specific steps to ensure the printer and driver recognize the dimensions correctly.

Here’s how to set it up:

🛠 Step-by-Step Guide to Print on 6" x 6" Paper

1. Prepare the Paper

  • Use clean, flat 6" x 6" sheets.
  • Load the paper into the main input tray.
  • Adjust the paper width guides snugly against the stack.

2. Create a Custom Paper Size on Your Computer

On Windows:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e → Printing Preferences
  • Click Advanced > Paper Size > Custom
  • Enter 6.00 inches x 6.00 inches
  • Save and apply the settings

On macOS:

  • Open the document you want to print
  • Go to File > Print
  • In the print dialog, click Paper Size > Manage Custom Sizes
  • Create a new size: 6 x 6 inches
  • Save and select it before printing

3. Adjust Print Settings in Your Application

  • Set margins appropriately to avoid clipping—try 0.25 inches on all sides
  • Choose Plain Paper as the media type
  • Set print quality to Normal or Best depending on your needs

4. Print the Document

  • Send the job and monitor the printer display for any prompts
  • If the printer asks to confirm paper size, select Custom or User Defined

You’ve already taken the right step by choosing a versatile printer—let’s make sure it handles your custom format smoothly.

If you’d like help adjusting layout or margins for square prints, I’m here to assist.
