Hi @Sandy541,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Paper Quality:
- Ensure that you are using the type of paper that is recommended for your printer model. High-quality, less fibrous paper generally performs better.
- Avoid using damaged, fanned, or folded paper as it can cause feeding issues.
Reduce the Paper Load:
- Remove the paper stack from the tray and make sure it does not exceed the maximum paper capacity marked in the tray.
- Fan the paper stack to make sure the sheets are not stuck together and then reload them properly into the paper tray.
Check the Paper Guides:
- Ensure that the paper guides are snug against the paper stack without being too tight.
- Adjust the guides carefully to ensure they are pressing lightly against the stack.
Clean the Paper Rollers:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
- Open the printer access door to access the rollers.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers ensuring to remove any dust or debris.
Inspect the Paper Path:
- Look inside the paper path for any obstructions or foreign objects that might be affecting the feeding mechanism.
- Carefully remove anything found that could contribute to the issue.
Test with Different Paper Brands:
- Sometimes the issue can be with the paper brand or batch. Try using a different brand or a new batch of paper to see if the problem persists.
I hope this helps.
