Hi @marie1850,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-In-One Printer is displaying a "low paper" message even though there's plenty of paper loaded, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue.
- Check Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray. Sometimes, if the paper is not aligned correctly, the printer may not detect it properly.
- Reload Paper: Try removing the paper from the tray and reloading it. Make sure the stack of paper is neatly placed and not too tightly packed.
- Inspect Paper Tray Sensors: Look for any sensors or mechanical parts inside the paper tray area. Sometimes, these sensors can get stuck or become dirty, causing the printer to incorrectly detect a low paper condition.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches or errors.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can often fix software-related issues and improve printer performance.
- Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Keep in mind that this will reset all printer settings to their defaults, so you may need to reconfigure any custom settings afterward.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the "low paper" message on your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-In-One Printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
