Paper does not feed, but the printer tries. You can hear this. I have cleaned the wheels etc. Scanning from the scanner glass works normally. So it's an input problem. Thank you for your answer!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a paper feeding issue on the printer I am glad to assist you.

Check the print settings

Depending on the settings, the printer might display a 'Load Paper' error message, even if the input tray has paper loaded. Change the print settings from the printer control panel or the program you are trying to print from.

  1. From the control panel, press the Setup button .

  2. Press the right arrow button  to scroll to System Setup, and then press OK.

  3. Press the right arrow button to scroll to Paper Setup, and then press OK.

  4. Press the right arrow button to scroll to Default Paper Type, and then press OK.

  5. Press the right arrow button to select a paper type, and then press OK.

  6. Press the right arrow button to scroll to Default Paper Size, and then press OK.

  7. Press the right arrow button to select a paper size, and then press OK.

Print a cleaning page to clean the paper feed and pick rollers

Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed and pick rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Printing a cleaning page can clean the main paper feed and pick rollers without having to clean them manually. Clean the rollers inside the printer, and then try to print a test page.

Print a cleaning page to resolve issue like fuzzy print or loose, smeared toner.

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray, and then turn on the printer, if it is not on already.

  2. From the printer control panel, press the Setup button .

  3. Press the right arrow button  to scroll to Service, and then press OK.

  4. Press the right arrow button to scroll to Cleaning Page, and then press OK.

Reset the printer

Sometimes an error persists even though there is no paper feed issue. Reset the printer, and then try to print.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

Hey,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the suggested solutions do not help. You can hear the ADF spinning but the paper is not drawn in.

Do you have another idea...?

Thank you!
