Hi @Viva930

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you are encountering two issues with your HP LaserJet Pro 4001n:

  1. The printer says it is low on paper, but there is paper in the tray.
  2. You are getting the error message: "Printer not activated -30."

Let's address both issues one by one:

Issue 1: Printer says low on paper but paper is present:

This issue can happen due to several reasons, including a paper sensor problem, paper misalignment, or a software glitch. Here's what you can do:

1. Check Paper Tray:

  • Make sure the paper in the tray is correctly aligned and that the tray is seated properly in the printer. Sometimes, even if there’s paper, the sensor may not detect it correctly if the tray is not installed properly.
  • Reload the paper: Remove the paper from the tray and reload it. Ensure that the stack is not too high or low and that the paper is aligned with the tray guides.

2. Clean Paper Sensors:

  • The printer uses sensors to detect whether there is paper in the tray. Over time, dust or ink residue can affect their function. You can clean the paper sensors to make sure they’re not obstructed.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Look for small paper sensors inside the printer (usually near the paper path).
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean these sensors.

Issue 2: Error "Printer Not Activated -30":

The error message "Printer Not Activated -30" usually appears when there’s a problem with the printer’s network connection or a conflict with the driver or software.

Here’s how to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Check Printer Network Connection:

  • If you're using a networked connection (wired or wireless), make sure that the printer is properly connected to the network.
  • Check the printer's IP address and make sure it’s connected to the same network as your computer.
  • If using Wi-Fi, try restarting both the router and the printer.

2. Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Sometimes, this error can be caused by a corrupted or outdated printer driver. Try reinstalling the printer drivers:
    1. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for the LaserJet Pro 4001n.
    2. Uninstall the current printer driver from your computer.
    3. Reinstall the printer driver and software from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
