Hi @durbie1,

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer is not picking photo paper.

To assist better -

  1. Are you able to print using regular paper?
  2. What are the size, weight, and type of paper you are using?
  3. What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

Keep me posted.

The C8180 Printer works normally with standard paper.  The problems are with all sizes and weights of photo paper, especially 10.5 MIL, 80 LB photo paper.

HP Recommended

The printer only supports 4 x 6 inches (10 x 15 cm) Photo paper that weighs 145 lb. (236 gsm).

Hope this helps!

HP C8180 Printer prints as supposed to on regular copy paper, but makes noise when using any size or weight of photo paper.  After making noise for a few seconds, the paper loads and prints good pictures.  I am using the same computer and software that I had when purchasing the HP Printer several years ago.  The issue is in the Printer.  Is it repairable?

HP Recommended

The printer is not repairable.

I'd recommend you contact HP Phone Support in your region for service options to know more.
