HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer

Changed internet streaming provider 8 months ago.  Last few months I get printer off line and have to restart printer every time I try to use it, printing delayed, printing stops in middle of document and then spits out paper saying printer error. Have removed and re installed printer, have done multiple troubleshooting techniques, says printer is asleep when it is on.  Have used printer with current  dell laptop for over 1 year, windows 11 and only started problems a few months ago. Need Help!

This is occuring mostly when trying to print documents with .odt which is libre office program.  Also tried .doc with same issues.

Hi @mo1jo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One printer is offline and experiencing delays or stopping in the middle of a print job, there are several potential causes and solutions to consider.

  • Check your printer's connectivity: Make sure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or wireless network. If it's a wired connection, check that the cable is firmly plugged into both the printer and your computer. If it's a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer and that the signal strength is strong enough.
  • Restart your printer and computer: Sometimes simply restarting your devices can help clear up any connectivity issues or other glitches that might be causing the printer to go offline or stall during a print job.
  • Check your ink levels: If your printer is low on ink or toner, it may pause or stop in the middle of a print job. Check your ink levels and replace any cartridges that are running low.
  • Update your printer drivers: Outdated or incorrect printer drivers can cause issues with printing and connectivity. Check for any available updates to your printer drivers and install them if necessary.
  • Clear any print queue: If there are any jobs stuck in the printer queue, try clearing them out and restarting the printer to see if that helps.
  • Reset your printer: If none of the above steps work, try resetting your printer to its default settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
