@Tajuddin1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It looks like your HP Smart Tank 516 printer is experiencing a paper feed issue, which is why it isn't picking up the paper automatically. Here are some troubleshooting steps to fix this:

Check the Paper Tray & Paper Alignment

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Remove all paper from the input tray.
  3. Fan out the stack of paper to separate sheets and ensure no paper is stuck together.
  4. Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper snugly without being too tight.
  5. Reload the paper and try printing again.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the input tray and locate the rollers.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to wipe the rollers.
  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, then reconnect the printer and try again.

Check for Paper Jams

  1. Open the rear access door and check if any paper is stuck inside.
  2. Remove any jammed paper gently without tearing it.
  3. Close the door properly and try printing again.

Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  2. Plug it back in and turn it on.
  3. Try printing again to check if the issue is resolved.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

  1. Go to HP’s official website and download the latest driver for your printer.
  2. Uninstall the existing printer driver from your PC and reinstall the updated version.
  3. Restart your computer and try printing again.

If the issue persists, let me know! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
