Hi
I have reset the printer to factory settings. Now I get the task to insert the paper tray to port 2. It is the second step in the start up after resetting.
The problem is, that the paper tray is already insert. The status/task an the tray 2 is visible on the picture.
I have insert the tray several times and also tried to clean the cylinder which transports the paper sheets.
Does anyone have a hint for how to solve the issue?
Thanks for your help.

Inside the tray cavity, next to the pickup roller, there is a flag that sometimes get stuck in the wrong place and prevents proper detection of paper. You need to make sure it moves freely.

I have seen at least one case where the sensor pack at the back of the tray cavity has broken where the green circled screw is in picture below and then the whole mechanism moves backwards and then the tray never lifts and therefore the printer thinks there is no tray inserted. There was enough material left in my case that I was able to seat the mechanism in the right place and tighten the screw. If there is not enough material you may have to look at bracing it from behind some how.

Hi, sorry for the late answer.
I'm not sure, how to proof your hint.
Of course I have disvovered the screw marked. I think the mechanism works correct.
If it is neccessary toe open the case for tight thee screw: can you send me a link where is explaned how to diassamble the case of the printer?

If there is no obvious broken plastic then it is unlikely that is your issue.

I'm not sure, what to do.
Should I invest time or money for finding a solution or just buy a new printer.
Do you have an idea, where I can find more possible solutions or at least solution approaches for my problem?
