HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277n

My MFP M277n Color LaserJet printer has recently developed a "59" service error causing a paper jam every print job. As far as I can tell, this error relates to a faulty solenoid clutch valve whereby the internal pad has become sticky and therefore stops the clamp/flap opening and closing freely.

Videos online indicate the repair is not too complicated for a technician. The part itself can be obtained quite cheaply or otherwise a makeshift fix is possible. I have emailed several local consumer print service centers in Thailand (obtained from the HP site) requesting support and had no replies. I am therefore receiving no support from official HP channels. It seems they do not want to touch an out of warranty printer. I was able to get through to one service center but without inspecting the printer, they quoted me an absurd price, more than retail cost of the printer which was basically a way of giving me the shove.

I am loath to throw out what is an otherwise perfectly good LaserJet printer which has thus far served me well only because it requires a fairly basic repair. I assume these authorised service centers operate as franchisees but are they overseen by HP USA such that I can file a complaint about the complete lack of service?
