Have mfp283 laser. Would like to use up my inkjet photo papers. They are:
Canon pixma glossy 11
Kodak glossy picture paper
HP semi-gloss photo paper
All marked as 'inkjet'
Anyone one know if they are safe to use with laser, please?

If they are not marked with Laserjet you should replace the media.
Laserjet printer uses heat, using media not intended for a such can melt and damage the printer, which is not covered as part of the warranty, and it is not safe due to possible media burn

@ShlomiL is correct. Many inkjet papers, especially photo type papers have a think coating designed to absorb ink at a controlled rate to prevent bleeding and this coating could pose a hazard to the fuser on your printer. Find someone to gift the paper to and purchase the correct paper.
