old Laserjet 1018. is connected and after i send a doc to printer, it shows in print control app like it is working but nothing actually prints.  uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. is there a generic print driver somewhere.  the unhelpful app doesn't recognize the serial number  and the 1018 is nowhere to be found.  saw a recommendation for 1022 driver. can't find it either.  dazed and confused.

Please try to install following next steps:

 

(1) Connect a USB cable between your printer and Mac computer:

  • ferRX_0-1769853014648.pngferRX_0-1769853014648.png

(2) Then download and install  HP Printer drivers for MacOS from the next link:

(3) And go to System Preferences > Printers then Add the printer.

* Click YES   to say thank you, 

* Click Accepted as Solution when question is answered.
