Printer Network Setup Wizard asks for username and password while trying to access printer settings from 192.168.223.1. Tried Admin, admin, password, 12345678, registered email etc. Nothing worked. There is no username or password given anywhere on the printer stickers either.

I don't know why it is so hard for people on this website to understand simple English?!? Did you even read my query before sending an anserine reply after 5 full days? I am pretty sure that it's just not me alone on this side of the court because I had spent a lot of time reading through similar queries where those question-askers were given imbecilic and moronic replies! I even saw a person offering to send the solution to PM to another user, and another genius asking the asker to use common sense to figure it out! We are asking for general information that is supposed to be in the user manual, not nuclear launch codes or top-secret information! Neither do we have to use our common sense or guesswork to figure out this piece of information!

Like the multitude of others who asked questions on the same situation and went helpless, I faced the issue on the printer EWS (192.168.223.1) the issue is about accessing the printer settings! The issue is NOT about connecting a device to the printer, but accessing EWS, for the nth time!

When accessing the IP Address of the printer 192.168.223.1 (a.k.a. EWS) the browser demands a username and password to view/edit the settings parameters. I am able to connect my printer to all the devices I want through WiFi-Direct and WPS, this question isn't about that! I am sure it is one of the "features" of your senseless system that also requires the users to jump through numerous hoops and make an account to use the basic printer functions.

There is no proper solution to this question yet on your support pages.

I even reset the system by pressing the wireless and the cancel buttons. But what is the default username and password for the EWS? That is my question, your previous reply was nothing but ludicrous idiocy that failed to make the slightest sense!

@91i3hs9,

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate your efforts. We have to perform a Semi Full Reset to unlock the features of the printer/Reset the password.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Greetings,

Seems like I have the same issue, can you please also send me an instructions? my device model is HP Color Laser 150nw

Just for the sake of clarity,  I have tried to reset (20 sec for WiFi button) and print over Network configuration, I have WPS PIN Number, but still not able to login to HP Embedded Web Server. I suspect username is off (I have tried Admin/admin/Administrator etc)
