Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 
No, the HP DeskJet 2755e printer is not compatible with HP DeskJet 2540 ink cartridges.

  • The HP DeskJet 2755e uses HP 67 (USA) or HP 305 (Europe) ink cartridges.
  • The HP DeskJet 2540 uses HP 61 (USA) or HP 301 (Europe) ink cartridges.
     

Ink cartridges are printer-specific, so they are not interchangeable between these two models.
