Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 4500 series envy 4502 that uses software to print, scan, see print Q,,etc.   It is more functional than HP Smart.   it was an HP software product for printing scanning prior to Smart, does anyone know where I can get this software>

You are likely referring to "HP Scan"

 

Category Software and Drivers >> Full Feature Software (includes HP Scan)

HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories 

After the software is fully installed, Restart the computer and log in
