Unable to connect via  cable. HP Smart app unable to complete download, and nowhere on hp website mentions defective 6055e and software, HP Support has NO solution

Tried all options - uninstall HP Smart app , turn on / off multiple times until I questioned my sanity. HP KNOWS THE SOFTWARE AND PRINTER DON'T WORK VIA USB CABLE - last resort when wifi FAILS - also unabble to connect via Direct ... Total waste of time and moey, I am a helpdesk workerr and have never a LACK OF SUPPORT FROM ALL, INCUDING COMMUNITY - A HP EMPLOYEE POSTED a 404 - DEAD .
