Hi there @Abdallhezat, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

The HP Printer Error Code 62.00.02 (or similar variants like 62.00.23) typically indicates a scanner carriage or scanner motor failure in HP LaserJet or multifunction printers. This error prevents the scanner from initializing properly during startup.

Recommended Steps to Resolve:

Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

This clears temporary faults and resets the scanner motor.

Step 2: Check for Obstructions

  • Open the scanner lid and inspect the scanner glass area.
  • Look for any paper fragments, debris, or jammed parts that may block the scanner carriage.
  • Gently move the scanner lamp (if accessible) to check for free movement.

Step 3: Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause hardware initialization errors.

  • Visit the Official HP® Support
  • Enter your printer model (e.g., HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdw).
  • Download and install the latest firmware.

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!

Best regards,

Max3Aj
