6978 All-In-One no longer works with MaciOS 10.12. What can I do?

6978 All-In-One

Cannot scan or print on my 6978 All-In-One anymore. Cannot reinstall software. App store only has software for HP Smart for Desktop that requires iOS 10.13.

Tried suggested link to Apple AirPrint but page is no longer there.

Cannot print for iPhone 12 either.

Is my perfectly working printer/scanner now obsolete because of a software update?

@tami15, Welcome to HP Support Community!

For OS X 10.9 and newer, download HP Easy Start, and then use the software application to uninstall your HP software.

  1. Go to 123.hp.com/setup, and then click Download.

  2. After the software downloads, open HP Easy Start.

  3. Click File, and then select Uninstall HP Software... from the menu.

Figure : Select Uninstall HP Software...

    Select Uninstall HP Software...
  4. Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue.

  5. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password.

  6. HP Uninstaller removes all HP printer software previously installed.

  7. If you are reinstalling the HP printer software, click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to install the printer with HP EasyStart.

Now, try printing and scanning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
