We do not use our computer to print photos...only a thumb drive inserted directly into the machine. We have printed borderless 4x6 photos on to HP photo paper since we bought the 7140 series all-in-one printer. Just a couple days ago, the photos started printing with borders. There doesn't seem to be a setting for which I can change to borderless printing.

Please help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Are you using HP Officejet 7140xi All-in-One Printer? or is it a HP Envy 7640?

For now, let us try these steps:

Step 1: Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

To print photos from a memory device on HP ENVY 7640:

  1. Insert a memory device into the slot.
  2. On the printer display, select a photo that you want to print and touch Continue.
  3. Specify the number of photos to print.
  4. Touch (Edit) to change brightness, crop, or rotate the selected photo, or touch https://support.hp.com/doc-images/359/c04943257.gif(Print Settings) to use such features as Red Eye Removal or Photo Fix.
  5. Touch Continue and preview the selected photo.
  6. Touch Print to begin printing.

Let me know how this goes.
