Hi @navyron,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP Smart Tank 7302 shows “Ready” but keeps going into sleep mode, making printing inconvenient. Here’s what we HP recommend:

Why This Happens

HP Smart Tank printers have an Energy Save feature that automatically puts the printer into sleep mode after a period of inactivity to conserve power. Even when the status shows “Ready,” the printer may be in a low-power state until it receives a print job.

Recommended Steps

Step 1: Check Sleep Timer Settings

  1. On the printer control panel, go to Setup → Preferences → Energy Save Mode.
  2. Adjust the Sleep Timer to a longer duration or disable it if allowed.

Step 2: Use HP Smart App Settings

  • Open HP Smart App → Printer Settings → Advanced Settings (EWS).
  • Navigate to Settings → Preferences → Energy Save Mode.
  • Set the sleep time to the maximum or turn off auto-sleep if available.

Step 3: Keep Printer Awake During Printing

  • If printing from a computer, enable “Wake printer on job” in the driver settings.
  • For mobile printing, tap the printer’s control panel before sending the job.

Step 4: Firmware Update

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
