I recd an update availability notice on my HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M281fdw printer and pressed update now.  Ever since, the printer indicates 79 Service error.  I've tried all instructions on the HP support page... turned off, then on, updated firmware, plugged into the wall outlet instead of surge protector... nothing is working.  The printer keeps rebooting with the error whenever I have the wi-fi and/or network set to "on".  I'm going crazy and have wasted a weekend trying to fix.  What do I do?

I'd like to help!

 

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

 

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I have the same problem of my printer  resetting after about 1 minute then initializing after the service code 79 error on my MFP M281fdw. Can you please send me instructions on how to fix this? 

I’d also like to know if anyone has had success on fixing their printer after having this problem.  Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
