Hi,
What exact behavior or error occurs? there are many possible reasons so be sure to provide some more details as possible to better understand the problem.
Additionally, is the printer connected to your Mac with a USB cable, through a wired network or a wireless network connection?

the new printer 8025e is connected to my MacBookPro, operating system os Monterey 12.1. Printer prints from my Mac. Scanner scans from my 8025e only when' I put a single page document on the glass and it sends scan to my computer. When I place a document into document feeder to scan, a message comes up on 8025e screen "To scan to a computer, use the HP software on your computer to set up this feature first. To scan to MacOS, use HP Smart. (You can get this app at 123.hp.com)"
When I go online to get the HP Easy Start, it sends a file to my computer. When I go to initiate the file install, all that happens is it spins and spins but does not install.
So the only way for me to use the scanner from the document feeder is I have to click on the HP Smart icon, wait for it to connect to the internet, then open up different windows and make clicks to get a multipage or two-sided document to scan and send to my Mac.
I spent 48 minutes with the HP help desk line, and the conclusion from the tech was it's an Apple problem.
On my old HP6978, I could put a document, either multiple pages or 2-sided, into the document feeder, it would scan, and send directly to my Mac. That was easy. The 8025e document feeder scan is cumbersome and takes too much time, What the heck?
