Bought a 8138e OfficeJet Pro at Costco.

I can't get to the home menu on the printers control panel (MENU, COPY, SCAN).

When I power up the panel always goes to the "FIRMWARE UPDATES" screen and The 'Firmware Updates can improve..."  message. The "NEXT" button takes me to the 2 choices ("Auto" and "Notify") and if i select either one I get to a screen with "Continue" and nothing happens when I select it.

i can print ok,.

I can initiate scans from the "HP Scan" app on my PC.

I  can access  the printer from the EWS on my PC and get to the "Firmware  Updates" options.

Update setting is set to automatically.

It shows that the current firmware version is 6.23.5.66-202507151217 and that it was installed today.

The "Check for Update" option tells me i have the latest version.

The Wifi network is fine.

I've powered down and restarted several times.

I'm stuck. I'd like to be able to access all the functions on the control panel.

Thank You very much for taking the time to repond to my posting.

Unfortunately this did not solve my problem.

I downloaded and executed the firmware  executable and the output said thet the "Version" on the printer was the same value i listed in my posting and that the "Status" was "Up-to-Date". The  "Update" button was disabled.

Once again, I appreciate your efforts.
