Hi @VDORJR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following steps:

Check for Default Admin Credentials

  • Try admin for both username & password.
  • If that doesn’t work, leave the username blank and try admin as the password.
  • Some printers use the last 8 digits of the serial number as the password, Try that.

Check for a Label on the Printer

  • Look under or behind the printer for a sticker labeled WPS PIN or Admin Password.

Reset Printer’s Admin Password

If you don’t know the password, reset it:

  • On the printer display, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Restart the printer and try setting it up again.

Find WPS PIN from Printer Menu

If it’s asking for a WPS PIN, print it from the printer menu:

  • On the printer screen, go to Network Settings > Wi-Fi Protected Setup > PIN.
  • The PIN will be displayed or printed.

Set Up via USB First

If the setup is blocked, connect the printer via USB to the MacBook Air, install the drivers, and then set up Wi-Fi manually.
