8710

I bought an Officejet 8710, and when I went to configure it, it insists that I need setup cartridges as part of the process. I purchased the unit from a thrift store and it didn't come with any setup cartridges. It will turn off and back on with the button, but nothing will take it past the step where it says "Install the cartridges that came with the printer."

Is there a way to bypass this, or did the printer brick itself rather than be re-homed?

Thanks for your reply @Treeko, though it doesn't apply to my question. The link applies if I had the setup cartridges available. These did not come with the printer, and I need to bypass the setup cartridge error during setup without using them, or find a way to get a set of them. What is the process for that?
