I've seen this issue presented many times in this forum, but the solutions offered are unclear or don't apply.  I am doing "Scan to Network Folder Setup".  I ALWAYS am greeted with the "Error. The username or password is incorrect. Press "Edit" to change username or password and try again."

I have used every possible username/password combination that seems likely.  I've even tried the \computer name\username method with no luck.

I am at my wits end on this.  When my computer boots up, I'm greeted with the Windows login.  I enter my "pin" and log in.  Now, I can also log in with my Microsoft account password.  But NONE of this will work when trying to set up the Network folder for scanning.  The folder is identified.  Sharing is enabled, etc., etc.

Please help.

Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I recommend you enable SMB on your computer. Follow the below steps to Enable SMB.

Programs and features > turn on windows feature > SMB 1.0 CIFS Server > reboot PC.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
