To HP,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the HP 9135e printer. As a loyal HP customer for many years, having owned approximately ten Officejet printers, including the G85, I had high expectations for this new model. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating.
The installation process was riddled with errors and endless loops, making it a struggle to even get the printer set up. The account login process was faulty, reporting errors before I could even enter my password.
The decision to split the software into three separate programs for scanning, faxing, and printing is baffling and inconvenient. The feature set is also lacking compared to the full driver for my previous HP 8740. HP Smart is not a suitable replacement.
While I was eventually able to get the printer to print, the scanning functionality is unreliable. The "scan to computer" function rarely works, unlike the consistently reliable performance of my HP 8740. Even simple tasks like configuring the fax ring count seem unnecessarily difficult.
Overall, my experience with the HP 9135e has been filled with bugs, deprecated features, and immense disappointment. As a result, I am returning the printer. I urge HP to consider addressing these issues and improving the product.
