@execDCal05156, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding 9730e being offline!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e is showing as offline, it could be due to driver issues, network problems, or incorrect printer settings. Try these troubleshooting steps:
Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from power, and wait 1 minute.
- Restart your computer and router.
- Turn the printer back on and check its status.
Check Printer Connection
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
- If using USB, try a different port and cable.
- If using Ethernet (LAN), check the cable connection.
Set Printer to Online Manually (Windows)
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP 9730e and select See what’s printing.
- In the new window, click Printer (top left) and uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if enabled.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Remove the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Download the latest drivers from HP's official website.
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (Download Here) to detect and fix issues.
- Reinstall the printer and check if it comes online.
Update Firmware
- If you can access the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS), try updating the firmware manually.
- Go to Settings > Printer Update and check for updates.
Assign a Static IP (For Network Printers)
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer settings.
- Find the current IP Address of the printer.
- Enter the IP in a browser to access EWS (Embedded Web Server).
- Set a Static IP under Network Settings to prevent future disconnections.
If the issue persists, let me know what step you reached and any error messages you see! 🚀
