9730e printing borderless and as a booklet

I just purchased the hp OfficeJet Pro 9730e. I have an 8.5x11 pdf file that is 16 pages. I'm trying to print that as a booklet on 11x17 paper. I can't figure out the settings to keep it from printing 4 pages on 1 side of the 17x11. I only want two pages per side so that it folds in half to an 8.5x11 finished product. I've tried all the settings I can find. Also, I can't figure out how to print borderless. Everything I've read says it will print borderless on 17x11 paper and as a pdf file. Any suggestions?

The specifications indicate that A3 paper is supported for automatic duplex (2-sided) printing.

If asked enter the printer’s PIN number –

The default PIN might be located on the back or inside the printer (ink access area).

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Alternate EWS format - Select new InkJet printers and select LaserJet printers

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Paper > Trays > click on Tray to configure

Job Configuration

I don't see where you told us your Operating System / version or the software / application you are trying to use.

The following is relevant to supported versions Windows

HP Smart Printing queue and the HP Smart Universal Printing Driver both support Booklet printing.

NOTE

If the Borderless setting is compatible with the other settings, you will be able to add it in the HP Smart Printing settings when you are configuring the job for Booklet printing.

HP Smart Printing / HP Smart Universal Print Driver - Booklet Printing

Standard Example - Adobe Reader - using HP Smart Printing queue -

1)  Open PDF file in Adobe Reader

2)  Select Print icon

3)  Select Printer as "HP Smart Printing"

4)  Select Properties

Properties open HP Smart Printing job settings

5)  Orientation = Portrait

      Binding / Gutter = Left

      Standard Paper size = Letter (could be A4)

Optional - Select other options

For example, Watermark and / or Scale / Resize

6)  Select OK to save changes and return to main print menu

7)  Select Print to issue the print command

     If asked, issue Print again or select a different printer if offered

Result = 1/2 Fold "booklet" - Left to right reading 

Folded, the booklet is taller than wide

What else?

Adobe Reader -- even without the HP Smart Printing queue -- can print in Booklet format.

It might be required that you have (previously) installed the full driver printer software.
