I had hp instant ink but canceled recently. Discovered the cartridges will not work so I decided to re enroll at the lowest cost option. My printer sucks and constantly goes offline. It's flashing EO and sometimes E3 and I can't get it to stop. I know it has to do with the now incompatible cartridges. Can't subscribe w/o being online. Can't get online with lights flashing. I have tried every means to reset the printer with no success. How do I fix this????

Welcome to the HP English Community --
The printer might be tied in knots --
Less likely, the printer might respond to a Reset.
Subscription cartridges from original contact still in Printer??
If yes,
The Reset might work if you replace the locked cartridges -- In fact, you might not need the Reset if you replace the cartridges with unlocked cartridges that the new contract can use. ??
Important
Instant Ink is an optional service.
You need NOT subscribe to an ink service to use the printer.
HP DeskJet, ENVY 6000, 6400 - Blinking lights and error codes
What?'
The source of the immediate problem is perhaps related to the original Cancellation of the service.
After having cancelled the Instant Ink Service, all Subscription Cartridges must be removed after the final billing (when the contract is terminated / closed).
Subscription cartridges only work with an active subscription.
After the contract is terminated, you must remove all subscription cartridges and replace the locked cartridges with a fresh set of purchased HP ink cartridges.
Subscribing again, if having done so without having replaced the locked cartridges, won't work.
Once locked after contract termination, subscription cartridges cannot be used.
"Cannot be used" includes not subscribed and / or subscribing to a new contract.
What to do?
You perhaps need to talk to Instant Ink Support.
I will also pass your message to our Moderators -- Should there be a response, look for a message here before the agent uses other methods to contact you.
Decisions
If you want to keep the new contract, then do that.
OR
If you want to cancel the new contract, do that.
Ask how to untangle the printer from its current error state.
