Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

My printer has suddenly said that there is an Administrator and I need to input the PW before I can correct a USB connection problem.   

I DIDN'T set up the Administrator ON PURPOSE when I bought this printer for this very reason....How many UserNames and Passwords do YOU have to remember?

 

So how do I crack through?  Ive downloaded the new HP Smart pkg for Mac 10.13 High Sierra...AND gone to the Printer webpage - Security - Adminstrator Settings and clicked "SIGN-IN"...nothing happens!   What do I do?

I understand you need support and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

Where do you see the administrator password prompt, is it on the printer control panel display or on the computer?

Would you be able to send us a picture of the password prompt.
