Hi guys! I cannot access Advanced settings in HP smart to change my printer to my new network. I am logged into the app already which was the answer to the last person who had this problem. How do I change my settings without paying the 20$ troubleshooting fee?

Hi again! Thanks for the link to the support page.
Yes, I have talked to 3 support agents already and they said it costs 20$ for them to change my wifi setting without being connected to the old network.
I ended up factory resetting my printer which allowed me to go through setup again.
Thank you for the helpful suggestions!

Hi @Jooses,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the Advanced Settings in the HP Smart app are greyed out and you need to change your printer to a new network without incurring any fees, here are some steps you can try:
1. Ensure Printer is Connected
- Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device. If it’s not connected, the settings may remain locked.
2. Reinstall the HP Smart App
- Sometimes, reinstalling the app can resolve glitches. Uninstall the app, then reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
3. Use the Printer's Control Panel
- If your printer has a control panel:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Network or Wireless Settings.
- Use the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect to the new network.
4. Reset Network Settings
- On the printer, find the option to restore network settings to default. After doing this, try reconnecting to the new network through the printer’s control panel.
5. Update the App and Firmware
- Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app and that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Updates can resolve functionality issues.
6. Check for Multiple Accounts
- If you have multiple HP accounts, make sure you’re logged into the one associated with the printer. Sometimes switching accounts can help.
7. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- If you're on a Windows computer, download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help identify and fix issues related to your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Oh it is absolutely not connected to the internet. I was trying to get to advanced settings so I could change the network because we got new internet. Is there a way to do that without going into advanced settings? The old network doesn't exist anymore. I don't think it has a control panel. =(
Thanks again for your help!!
