OfficeJet Pro 6978

I'm in the process of setting up my HP OfficeJet Pro 6978. Originally, it gave me a Printerhead Error code, however, I was able to troubleshoot and solve that issue after a few restarts and removing then replacing the ink cartridges.

With the ink cartridges now installed, I am at the step of printing, then scanning the alignment page. However, when it "prints" the alignment page, it comes out with a blank page (no ink on the paper). The printer goes through the motions and acts as though it is printing the alignment page, however it comes out blank.

I've unplugged, restarted and removed the ink cartridges, but it repeats the same issue. I do not get a message that says low ink, but it is possible that the ink is dried up? If I touch the bottom of the ink cartridge, there is ink on my finger, so I assume that is not the problem.

TIA for any advice on this issue!

@JosephKnowles, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Alignment Errors and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
