I have tried the diagnostics list & no help - Anyone have HP Support #?
I cannot seem to find it online - it just keeps asking me to fill in a serial # which isn't working even though it's exactly what is written on the back of this HP Officejet Pro 8600.
Anyone have the # to call?

Welcome to the HP English Community --
HP Support will not talk to you about a ten to thirteen year old printer --
HP Support accepts online case submissions for products still in Warranty.
Yes, I know - Much of the documentation says "Contact Support" -- the wording has never changed, I guess.
Yeah, but - there must be a way!
Be real careful about wandering out onto the Internet to look for HP Support --
HP Support does not free-post phone numbers on the 'net.
If you find a phone number for HP Support, it is not HP.
Know this going in --
Stay vigilant and don't become a victim of thieves or worse.
People fall prey to Not-HP sites everyday --
Dealing with scammers can be a little bit inconvenient or excessively scary and damaging.
========================================
"All the diagnostics" covers a lot -- there might be something more to try.
?
You might get some useful help here in the Community from someone who has an idea of what more to offer.
Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.
Reminder – New Post – Post New Question
When you submit your question to the Community,
Increase your chances of receiving an answer ---
Provide as much information as possible about the product.
For example,
- Provide the exact model of the device and the Operating System / version
- Do NOT include the serial number -- What? We cannot make use of the information and you should never post private information in a public forum.
- As best you can, describe the issue for which you are seeking our help.
- Tell us what you have tried to fix the problem.

@Dragon-Fur
Thank you for this information!
So I tried unplugging it, replugging it in. Tried shutting down & restarting. Tried a new outlet. Tried Cleaning the ink tray, back side, & front tray. Nothing is working & I cannot even fully diagnose it because there is no error code.
It simply says:
Printer Failure
There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.
But they won't even help us with this because it's apparently older?
What else can I do?

You are welcome.
Honestly, I'm not the one to tell you what else might work.
Perhaps try a new post -- I won't answer though I might monitor any progress.
True - Much of the HP documentation says "Contact HP" without any regard to the age of the product.
Were it mine to do, I'd have changed the wording years ago.
"Apparently older"
True - HP Support proper focuses on products still in Warranty.
Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.
When is old "too old"?
Many ink jet printers fall into "Retirement" category after ten years.
Before that, some are no longer even supported by driver software.
What?
Retirement of a product by HP means all the files, documentation, and HP provided "everything" is removed.

Is your HP Product “vintage? (Ten years of age or older)
Typically, HP stops supporting consumer products after ten years. Read the policy and find out if your HP device is on the list. “EOL”

That the printer has made it this far is a testament to the grand success of this series -
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 series printers have provided their owners a truly exceptional service record.
I am sorry - I do realize none of this helps you actually fix your printer.
