Hi @WarLordKiller,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're facing issues with locked features on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 All-In-One Printer and you don't have access to a username and password, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer to restore it to its default settings. Here are the trouble steps steps to perform a factory reset:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address on the printer by printing a network configuration page.

Factory Reset through EWS:

  • Once you access the EWS, navigate to the "Security" or "Settings" section.
  • Look for an option related to "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset."
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the reset.

Hard Reset:

  • If accessing the EWS is not possible or does not resolve the issue, try a hard reset.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Physical Reset Button (if available):

  • Some printers have a physical reset button. Check your printer's manual to locate it.
  • Press and hold the reset button for a few seconds.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
