HP DeskJet 4310 All-in-One Printer

2 month old 4310 deskjet, no issues, up until the point HP insisted on linking to WIFI to enable use of the instant ink feature.

After linking within HP a firmware update was requested, clicked ok now the printer just flashes all its lights upon start up - printer un-usable

cables pulled out, waited, 30 sec, 5 min, 1 hour & 4 hours same result everytime.

went to update firmware but due to printer being offline, the firmware doesnt know where to install.

** Managed to get new firmware updated, all looked well for 10 mins then reverted back to flashing all lights **

*** Issue Sorted - Turning of the WIFI function of the printer, the restarting 3 times has solved the issue *** Instant ink subscription cancelled, will purchase as and when needed - never agreed with needed the use of WIFI anyways..

Hello @leweg, welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for returning to the HP Support Community and sharing the outcome.

We acknowledge that the HP DeskJet 4310 became unresponsive with all control-panel lights flashing after the firmware update. We also note that although the firmware update appeared successful initially, the flashing-light condition returned shortly afterward.

It's good to know that you were ultimately able to restore the printer by turning off the printer's Wi-Fi function and restarting the printer three times, and that the printer is now functioning again.

We also understand your decision to cancel the HP Instant Ink subscription and continue using the printer without Wi-Fi, purchasing standard HP cartridges when required.

Thank you for documenting the solution that worked for your printer. Your update may be helpful to other HP DeskJet users who experience similar behavior following a firmware or wireless configuration change.

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
