Hi there. I have Windows 11 Pro 24H2 installed on my computer. I’ve downloaded drivers from HP site and installed them. Still only scanner is working. Anyways printer itself is able to print or copy or anything if to command him to do that from printer itself. It also works with 2 notebooks I have at home, one is windows 11 also, another is 10. I’ve already reinstalled windows, done the driver reinstalling job, checked the print queue and so on. It’s all alright. It says that’s the printing is done after I give such a command from a computer, but printer just stays silent. I’ve run out of ideas how can it be fixed. Anyways the internet is full of forums where the same question was asked but never answered. Maybe this time?

Good morning, sir! Thanks for your help and time, which I appreciate, but it’s no longer needed. I figured it out myself by reinstalling Windows once again, this time also 11 Pro, but 21H2 version and installed some drivers I found in comments under YouTube video of Ukrainian guy, who met the same problem. I hope adding link is allowed and it’ll be useful for someone who ever finds himself in the same situation.

Hi @meowkiskin,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've tried quite a few troubleshooting steps already! Here are a few additional suggestions that might help resolve the issue with your Samsung SCX 4200 printer:
1. Use the Windows Built-in Samsung Universal Print Driver
Instead of the HP site driver:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
- Click Add a printer or scanner
- If it doesn't find it, click The printer that I want isn’t listed
- Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings
- Select Use an existing port (USB001 if it’s USB)
- In the manufacturer list, check for Samsung → Select Samsung Universal Print Driver
- If it’s missing, you can download it from HP’s support site under Universal Print Driver (UPD) for Samsung printers
- Finish the installation and test print.
2. Try Compatibility Mode Installation
If you still want to use the official driver package:
- Right-click the driver installer.
- Select Properties
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: → Select Windows 7
- Run the installer again.
3. Try the Driver installation from the HP Website
HP Software Update Page: Click Here
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
