Authenticate new toner cartridge

I've found this thread which only seems  to refer to WIndows OS whereas I have the identical issue with macOS.  Please can someone tell me how to stop the box that says, "Your software can authenticate cartridges using an online service. However, access to the internet is not possible at this time." from coming up now that I have changed my first cartridge?

A warm welcome to HP Community!

I believe we can disable the notification using HP Utility. Here is how to do it:

1.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications.

2.) Click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility. (If HP Utility is not available, download and install HP Utility from here)

3.) Click Message Center.

4.) Click Settings and then Un-check all the options.

5.) Click Apply Now.

Thanks very much for that most comprehensive reply. 

I went through the steps but was unable to get anything like the screen showed in step 4.  I seem to have multiple entries of my printer in the utility (which I've only had for about a month) which might explain my difficulty.  Having messed around I decided to uninstall the utility and rid myself of the nagging.  I know that the toner cartridge I fitted is a genuine HP one, and the printer works perfectly.

So the answer is all software that HP provides to authenticate HP cartridges do not work please disable messages. Brand-new printer connected to the internet with brand new HP cartridges.  Why have authentication software if it is non-functional.  Even HP website has no ability to authenticate HP cartridges.  Why doesn't HP test this stuff to make sure it works. Ever heard of a beta test. Well we all know HP is as bad as it gets.  At least I can send this piece of junk back to Amazon on Monday.
