Hi @LorisDesigns,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having an issue where your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer is not printing colors or shading from AutoCAD ViewBase, but it's working fine with mview (viewports). Here are a few troubleshooting steps you might try.

  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the printer settings in AutoCAD are set to print in color and that no grayscale or black-and-white options are enabled. Verify this under Plot settings or Page Setup Manager.
  • Update Printer Driver: Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e. You can download the latest driver from the HP website.
  • AutoCAD Plot Style: Check the plot style table (CTB/STB file) used for your drawing. Sometimes plot styles can override color settings. Ensure that the plot style is set to print in color.
  • Check ViewBase Properties: Verify the properties of your ViewBase in AutoCAD. Sometimes, ViewBase might have settings or properties that affect how colors and shading are displayed.
  • Export and Test: Try exporting the drawing to a PDF or another format and see if colors and shading appear correctly in the exported file. If they do, the issue may be with how AutoCAD is sending the data to the printer.
  • Printer Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates.
  • Printer Test Page: Print a test page directly from the printer’s settings menu. This helps ensure that the printer itself is functioning correctly with color output.
  • AutoCAD Update: Ensure that AutoCAD is updated to the latest version. Sometimes bugs related to printing and plotting are fixed in newer updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
