HP DesignJet T630 36-in Printer

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to configure the printer to automatically detect and adjust paper sizes. For instance, when printing a PDF containing multiple pages of varying sizes, such as A0, A1, A2, and A3, the printer should recognize each page size and print them correctly without manual intervention.

@FlavioCVGB, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP DesignJet T630 36-in Printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

The HP DesignJet T630 36-in Printer has capabilities that can facilitate the printing of documents with varying page sizes, such as A0, A1, A2, and A3. Here are some steps to help you set up your printer to automatically handle different paper sizes:

  1. Enable Automatic Roll Selection:

    • Make sure your printer is set to use the automatic roll selection feature if multiple rolls with different sizes are loaded. This feature enables the printer to choose the correct roll size based on the page size of the document.
  2. Printer Settings Configuration:

    • Access the printer settings from the printer's touchscreen display or through the HP Utility software on your computer.
    • Look for settings related to paper handling or automatic paper source selection. Ensure these are configured to allow automatic selection based on document size.
  3. Print Settings Adjustment:

    • When printing a PDF, in the print dialog, select options such as “Choose paper source by PDF page size” or “Scale to fit” to allow the software to manage the print sizes according to the document.
    • In some cases, you might need to select the "Auto" option for paper size in your print settings, which tells the printer to automatically detect and handle different paper sizes based on the document's requirements.
  4. Use HP SmartStream:

    • If available, use HP SmartStream software, which provides enhanced capabilities for managing print jobs with varying page sizes and optimizing large format printing workflows.
  5. Update Drivers and Firmware:

    • Make sure that your printer's drivers and firmware are up-to-date to ensure you have access to the latest features and improvements related to media handling.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
