Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer is HP Envy 4520. Printer software is installed on my laptop HP Pavilion Notebook – Windows 10. I can print wireless from my laptop and my smartphone. Automatic duplex printing of a document works from the smartphone; printing the same document from the laptop only allow “print on both sides manually” by reinserting the printed pages to continue printing the other side. The printer properties device settings show: “Installable Options – Automatic Duplex Unit Installed – Automatic Configuration – off” (off is grayed out and does not allow anything else). I did uninstall and reinstall the printer software and drivers.

How can I get automatic duplex printing using the HP laptop?

Thank you for the response. Let us install the printer using Windows built-in driver and try printing 2 sided documents.

Refer to this document to know how.

Try printing.

Let me know how this goes.

Welcome to HP support community.

Follow the below steps to turn on the auto duplexing:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Printers and Faxes.
  2. Right-click the printer icon for your HP product.
  3. Click Printing Preferences,
  4. Select the Device settings tab.
  5. Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

Hello Sandytech20,

My problem is not solved yet. As I stated in my message, the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.
The HP document referred to in your answer does not help. In step 5, I select the Two-sided (Duplex) Printing shortcut but I cannot change the page flip option from Print on Both Sides Manually to anything else.
What can you suggest to get duplex printing to work?
