Hi @maureenjt652k26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how important it is for your photo to print  without distracting borders  I’ll do my best to guide you through this.

Could you confirm if the file you’re working with a standard PDF photo or something exported from an editing app?

Here are a few  steps you can try right away:

Printer settings check: Open the print dialog when sending the PDF to print. Look for an option like “Borderless Printing” or “Fit to Page”. On HP printers, this is often under Advanced or Preferences.

Paper type selection: Make sure you’ve selected Photo Paper as the paper type. Borderless printing is usually only supported on photo paper sizes (like 4x6 or A4).

HP Smart app: If you’re using the HP Smart app, check the print settings there  it often has a clearer toggle for borderless printing.

Driver update: Ensure your printer driver/software is up to date. Sometimes missing features like borderless printing appear after updating.

Scaling options: In the PDF viewer (Adobe Acrobat or similar), set scaling to “Actual Size” or “Fit” depending on whether you want the image to fully cover the page.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
