HI again,

this is a really basic question but when you are printing something and the settings page comes up before you press print, when it says select paper size and you select Letter, does this mean that anything you print or copy will be printed on a letter size page? I think this is what it means, is that correct?

I was asking because I thought Paper Size might mean the size/scale you wanted your final image to be.

But I think it is not that.

Sorry I have some issues with left brain concepts

thanks

There is both a bit of science and a bit of art when printing your documents and photos.

You are correct -- Letter size refers to the American standard office paper size  -- 8.5 X 11 inches

Letter Size paper can come in different paper types -

For example "Letter Size" paper might be regular / plain paper, Brochure paper, or even Photo Paper.

True, too, in a general but not "official" sense, people sometimes refer to a print size as "Letter" when they are referring to  printing a photo or page of text at the full size of the Letter size piece of paper.  Out of context of the subject of a conversation, such random comments might seem confusing.

Print size might be "Full Size" or similar wording when referring to how the content will sit on the paper.

Example - HP Smart - Simple Photo Print - 5x7 inch photo printed on Letter size paper

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e Wide Format All-in-One series   is a nice printer.

It supports a variety of paper sizes and paper types.

Example - EWS - Tray and Paper

EWS > HP Document / How-to (Original Format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

EWS – Tray and Paper Management

Original EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes
