Big Sur OS on mac

I have a Deskjet 1000 j110 series printer.  I've tried download the HP Easy Smart App which recognizes that is the printer i want to install but when it starts downloading the drivers for it, the process stops saying that ; gathering device info, preping setup, search software, preping for install and finally ends with: We were unable to automatically locate any software options for this product.  It sends me to HP support where i can search for my printer which is found but it takes me to a download page:

https://support.hp.com/lamerica_nsc_cnt_amer-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-1000-printer-series-j...

The file name has the words Mountain Lion in it, which is NOT my OS, and so of course can I download this file and try to run it on my Mac I get a error windows saying that this file needs to be updated by the manufacture. That is the end of this process.

The second option is to go to the website 123.hp.com but in this text field, the same printer model Deskjet 1000 J110 is not found.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Easy Start Utility:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/ASU/HP_Easy_St...

As soon as you open HP Easy Start, click the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software...
Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password and follow the steps on screen.
Click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to reinstall your printer with HP Easy Start and let me know if that may resolve the problem.

Well for some reason it's opening up as a different menu.  This is the 3rd time ive downloaded that file linked above.  I run it and the first screen is about checking a box agreeing to some terms and clicking a Continue button on the bottom right.

After that I get a screen preparing the printer for setup where i must check the printer is plugged in, powered on and something about wireless printers which is not my case and finally another Continue button on the bottom right.  Then it tries to connect to the printer.  But there is no UNINSTALL button or option.

Going thru with the install option is when the printer is added but whenever i try to print to it I get a warning saying the software has not installed completely and therefore Im unable to print.

Hi,

The Uninstall option is immediately when you run HP Easy Start, you should click the top HP Easy start menu immediately when you launch it (even before accepting the EULA) to remove it, then you should press on Set up a new device

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes,

Shlomi
