Thank you for responding.  I was able to reconnect my device with the network.  I do however, have another inquiry:  my device makes an awful churning noise when printing.  It would be necessary to have someone call me or have me send a video (from my iPhone) so that the noise can be heard.  Is that possible?  There is no option to allow the attachment of a video from my computer.  Thank you.

The churning noise coming from your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer during printing could be caused by a few different factors. Here are some potential causes and solutions.

 

Paper Feed Issues:

  • Cause: Misaligned paper or debris in the paper path can cause grinding or churning sounds.
  • Solution: Remove the paper tray, inspect for jammed paper or debris, and clean the rollers gently using a lint-free cloth with water. Make sure the paper is correctly aligned in the tray.

Loose or Worn-Out Parts:

  • Cause: Internal components, such as gears or rollers, may be loose or worn out, leading to unusual noises.
  • Solution: Run a printer diagnostic test for an inspection if you suspect a mechanical issue.

Ink Cartridge Issues:

  • Cause: The noise could be related to the carriage moving improperly or the cartridges not seated correctly.
