Microsoft Windows 11

Purchased HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer. Open sealed box and proceeded to setup, but NO ink cartridges were included in box.  Really needed to print, so purchased ink cartridges from Staples and proceeded to setup.  Setup stalled when screen showed message to install "Original Ink Cartridges".  Well, I don't have them, because someone obviously stole them from the box and resealed it.  I need to print and THIS IS RIDICULOUS.  I purchased the printer and I have ink and I WANT TO PRINT NOW!!!

Hi @Sandyg63,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you do not have the setup ink cartridges. To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

I request you to follow the steps mentioned below.

1)On the control panel please touch the Home icon.

2)Once done please press Back twice, and then press Home.

This should do the OOBE reset for the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
