HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer

I received this printer secondhand through a friend of my family. Upon trying to set the printer up - with official, freshly purchased and compatible HP ink - the printer prompted me to insert SETUP ink cartridges and would not proceed with setup any further. As the printer is secondhand, I do not have SETUP cartridges. How do I bypass this?

The problem is not with the ink cartridges, they are brand new. And I cannot update the firmware because the printer refuses to let me select any options until I use the SETUP cartridges that I did not receive and I do not have.
