Hello HP Support,

I bought a HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 that does not have the setup cartridges required for first-time activation.
I need to perform an OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) reset so I can use regular cartridges and start printing.

Serial Number of my printer (S/N): Edited

Could you please provide the official OOBE reset procedure for my model?

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Kind regards,
Natalie DB

@Garp_senchau : Thank you for your response.

I’ve already searched through the available support resources and reviewed the document you referred to. Unfortunately, it didn’t provide a helpful solution for my specific issue.

My printer did not come with setup cartridges — only several original HP cartridges, but none labeled as setup cartridges.

I also tried using the “Contact HP Customer Support” link, but it only leads to a blank page on my end.

While searching for a solution online, I came across this community and found several posts discussing the OOBE reset process. I’ve seen instructions for many other printer models, but nothing specific for the HP Officejet Pro 6230.

Could you please provide the OOBE reset instructions for this model, or let me know how I can proceed without the setup cartridges?

Thanks again for your time and support.

Best regards,
Natalie

Hey @natdeb,

Unfortunately, the HP Officejet Pro 6230 does not have an OOBE (Out of Box Experience) reset option. The setup cartridges are required to complete the initial setup and configuration of the printer. Without them, the printer may not function properly, as it uses those specific cartridges to calibrate and initialize.

Since the issue remains unresolved, I suggest contacting our phone/chat support team for personalized assistance. They can provide one-on-one help and may even be able to work their remote assistance magic to fix the problem.

Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
